The rationale of xcept.me is simple – make my ordinary portable storage secure. If I lost my USB key, the information inside is still safe. If I even lost my password together with USB key, the information inside is still safe. No one could access the information inside, except me.

xcept.me allows user to protect a portable storage with not only password, but also to designated locations, i.e. the computers the user trusted. One of the remarkable merits of xcept.me is that in case the protected USB storage is lost or being stolen, and the password is being cracked, without the designated computer, data in the lost USB storage would not be accessed and viewed by unauthorized user.
